Crappie morning with my wife 100218
Weather was nice and Wanda had all her work done, so I talked her into going with me to the lake. We had a great 2 plus hours of fishing. She caught the first fish on her first cast while I was getting the spot lock set on the TM. As a matter of fact, she kept me pretty busy with all the action.
Get the net, get the pliers, get the camera. Well, she actually didn’t want me to take more than the first pic, but she caught as many if not more of the 25-30 crappie today. We had a blast.
I took her upriver after after we had a limit of crappie in the livewell, to check on a certain bluff and I was lucky enough to catch our biggest crappie there today. 13.25” and was released. We released all fish under 11” and over 13”. We took 17 home to clean and freeze. My family in Louisiana is rejoicing right now. Grin.
We both fished with Lights Out Slab Slayers by Bobby Garland and we used the Slab Sauce on the 1/16 oz jigs on Litewire hooks. No one had to sell me on the Slab Sauce as I have been using a homemade version with minced garlic in it for over two years and it works.
Flowrate was back to normal and surface temp was 78.8 when we finished about 11:30. We fished a creek channel and a bluff.
