I am in the hunt for a good high powered rechargeable 12 volt spot light, that is if there is such a thing. I would like to find one that can hold a charge for a little while without a cord, but can e plugged in for direct light from a 12 volt plug. I have had a few in the past and none of them seemed to hold a charge after a couple of uses. If you have a good one you like for under 100 dollars, please give me your suggestions. Must be bright to find channel markers.
I own a couple LED rechargeable spot lights and I love them. I have a cheap one from harbor freight that is decent, a Stanley fat max, and a Peak Automotive. I can't complain about any of them. All rechargeable, LED, low and high beam. The peak is waterproof, not sure about the Stanley. Buy LED and you won't have to worry about using it 12v as battery life is long.

I also used the Stanley Fatmax. I bought mind from wally World. Can charge it from the boat if want.

Stanley for me as well. I've purchased several over the years and given them away as gifts for all my hunting friends. We use them when tracking. They have smaller models and bigger models and I've had both.
Of all of them I've purchased, I've only gone through one that would no longer hold a charge and that was after more than 7 years. Not bad for 30 bucks!
I've owned others that were in the 1million candle power and the 5 million candle power variety. None of them lasted very long in terms of battery life and rechargability. I'm not a huge fan of LED for certain things as natural light is sometimes better but, for this application, they work great.
The only other handheld light I've owned that was as good was a Smoke Eater fire department flashlight. Very similar to a Mag Light with 3 d-cell batteries. This thing would cut fog like no tomorrow and was natural light. I own a few surefire lights as well and they are all great lights. It really boils down to how far you want to shine and how big the cone will be at that distance.

I don't know much about the recharge versions other than the one I used a few years ago wouldn't hold a charge for diddly
but to be sure the new led stuff is some kinda bright and easy on batteries ….and NO bugs …..

I have an older stanley and it has been a good one. I will probably buy another Stanley then. Thanks everyone.
