There Was A Thread
A while back there was a thread posted about someone having a device that they pulled behind there boat while testing the depth their crankbait was diving. The reason I'm asking is I've have a hobby of painting my own baits and cannot find an accurate depth chart for C 55s and C 33 cranks. I know people say they dive 1-2' deeper than production baits, which is close to accurate but not for my OCD tendencies. I've pulled in shallow water to check the depth but to many variables and inconsistency there also. Just wondering if they tried pulling the two size baits mentioned above. Thanks in addvance. Chip

That was CanePole. And I doubt he did.

I think "G" posted this a long time ago as I bought some C55's and tried using them a few years ago. Now if this wasn't "G"O well I am old and forgetful anyway.

Cane Pole was the one that did the post you are talking about.
You might send him some painted baits, and get him to measure it for you?
Send him a PM.

Ive used the 255 and a smaller one that I can’t remember right now (549 maybe) with good success. They paint and pull just fine. I used a lighter split ring on the hooks than the nose and with braid on, the hook would come loose and save the bait. I used 300 Bandits and saw little difference in the depth difference between them.

Forgot to also say that you do nice work. The three on the left in the bottom pic would have done well where I was.
