don, this is not the best picture, but it is all I have. The batteries work great in this location as I discussed with you (PM). There is not much that can be done with the floor space in that area anyhow. I moved the batteries far enough forward so to mount on board charger and a waterproof box for the CMC lift controls. My batteries are actually farther to the bow than the picture shows. I screwed the battery boxes to the deck. Inside the oversize start battery box, I mounted a fuse panel so to fuse stuff mounted aft, such as sonar, auto water bail switch, bilge pump, etc. This worked great and I got rid of a bunch of inline fuses. I used led indicator type fuse panel. This lets you know what fuse is blown without a lot of labeling. Lazy here.
Also, I used rubber straps to keep the batt box lid in place. I despise those battery box straps.
