Post Hurricane Hammers
I’ve been trying to take a few days vacation over the last three weeks. I had to cancel the first time due to staffing shortfalls. The following week I canceled due to the hurricane moving through the Carolinas. It must of been an omen, as I was finally able to get off this week and was blessed with some truly great fishing. I was able to get on Santee 4 of the 5 days I was off. I was able to get on big fish, and bunches of them. All fish caught vertically jigging brush in 12 to 23 feet of water. Color didn’t matter as I caught fish off of every color that I tied on. Three of the 4 days found mostly black crappie biting, the last day it was a white crappie bite. The weather, though quite warm, was pleasant with light winds.

Wylie is a fine lake as well. Lots of hard work and determination goes into being successful. Being skilled and confident at a certain technique, knowing your lake and the fishes patterns, having many choice spots, spending untold number of hours on the water, and loving every minute of it. This can be reproduced by any individual on any lake.
