First Kayak crappie

Well they drained Bundicks again so I broke out the kayak. Caught 5, kept 3. Fished from 10 till 1. Fished about 7-10 feet deep in 10 to 12 foot of water. OF COURSE ALL OF THAT IS ASSUMPTIONS BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE A DEPTH FINDER ON MY YAK. Caught on red/chrt. And blue/chrt. Nice fish and the Vienna sausages look good two. Looking at that last picture I understand why it takes you a bunch of jigs when you fish there.

I love me some viennie wiennies. LOL. Nice fish. By the way been thinking about getting a yak myself. Can you recommend one?

I have a Jackson Coda I really like with a Humminbird that has the transducer mounted inside shooting through the hull. A good seat is really important for comfort throughout the day. Try before you buy if you can. Can't tell where you live, but they have demo days near Lafayette.

I’m only a hour and a half from Lafayette. Is there a certain store to go to?

Yea, NOT the one I use! lol I just have an academy special 10' pelican. It gets the job done but is hard to paddle! Hobie probably makes the best yaks but they are expensive.

Funny thing is that I was fixing to leave, hadn't had a bite in 1 1/2 hours so I figured I would eat my lunch and then paddle back. Well got 1 Vienna ate when the pole bounced! So figured I would try a little longer.

We like Pack & Paddle and have bought 3 from them. Real nice people. Sit on top is best for fishing. Scope it out good because you won't want to use it in the long run if it dosen't work for you. There is a forum here at CDC for paddlers.
