Years ago my wife and I were talking wallpaper, she said no wall paper was ugly if you have taste. Fast forward we were looking for a new house and walking into a dining room with gold foil with red flocking. I didn't say anything I just looked at her and pointed to the wall. nuff said she hated it too.
Brett if might be easier to pull the drywall down and replace. I've done both and new dry wall is way easier by the time you fix your damaged drywall after removal of wall paper
