Not Happy with Jigs
Just purchased this pack of jig heads at my local bass pro/cabelas.
Look good, right size (1/8 and 1/32), 25 per pack, not priced bad IMO, and I really needed some.
Fished on Sunday and lost 6 jigs with fish on.
The line did not break but my loop not in 2lb test is slipping thru this small crack where the hook eye is formed.
1st time shame on me, 2nd time shame on you,..........6th time I'm and idiot for waiting this long but switching to something that is a solid hook eye.
Any suggestions? Not about the idiot part (I done got that figured out) but about what kind to get and from where?

I buy my jigs from Grousefly. Never got a bad one. Choose weight, hook size, painted or plain, weedless or not. In other words, custom. PM him.

Its work but might could put a drop of solder on them. We did that one time with spinnerbaits that kept sliding the line down the shaft when fish was caught.

Super glue on that gap will help, until you can get some new ones.

You can close the gap with needle nosed pliers. I know that because I bought some ebay crappie jigs and have had to do every single one of them that way and I use 4# line.

I have the same problem with some Eagle Claw hooks that I use pouring my own jigs. As bad as I hated to, I have stopped using the loop, but losing a fish with a jig buried in it's jaw doesn't sit well with me. I use only 15# Power Pro Braid.

You might try a trilene knot, or any knot that cinches down tight with a double loop through the eye.
And, as mentioned, you could squeeze the eyelet closed with a pliers.

paint them with fingernail polish or close the eye in a vise or with pliers

I was just looking at those jigheads last night. I believe they are made my Eagle Claw and bought alot of them 4 months ago a Bass Pro. My jigheads do not have the gaps like those in the pic. Maybe you got a bad batch.

Most fishermen do not like this style of hook weather jig or bait. It seems the line always wants to go to the opening creating a problem of tying on. I try to avoid this style if possible.
