Newbie to the group. Try to get this posted one more time.
I have a lot of pony heads painted with vinyl paint. Not a good result. How can I get the vinyl paint off so I can powder coat? Thanks

Man I don't know, only did something like that one time and I used a Dremel tool to remove the paint and that is a pain in the rear IMHO!

I would soak them in acetone The vinyl should just peel right off.
I would soak in acetone and maybe lightly hit them with a brass brush after. Might scuff it up a bit but shouldn't be bad. Powder paint should still be smooth over it.

Acetone, vinyl thinner or lacquer thinner will all remove the vinyl paint. Lacquer thinner is the cheapest and easiest to purchase. Just dip the jigs in one of those and let it sit for a few minutes. The thicker the vinyl paint is , will determine how long you need to let them sit. I do it often. Usually just takes two or three minutes.
When I was running my jig business, I had several thousand jigs that I got for free. They had hooks that where junk and the paint was vinyl. I decided that on an off day, I would gut them of their valuable lead.
I put them in the pot with a good amount of lead and after a minute or so, the lead came oozing out. You were left with the vinyl paint stuck to the hook. Obviously not an option in your case.
Was it worth it? NOPE!!!!!
If all the above mention solutions don't work...gather up the jig heads in you dominant hand and slowly walk to the front door and throw them as far as you can....cause they are not of this world....lol...
