The wife wants to go fishing. What's your opinion?

In a nutshell, my wife has told me she wants to go fishing with me. After I got up off the floor, I started to wonder if it's worth it right now. Since getting my new boat and getting it rigged up, I've been fishing Green river. The last time I went about a month ago, the water temps were high and the bite was pretty slow. By the time I started to get on the fish, the lake traffic got so bad that I had to leave. I don't want to take her out and get skunked. I'd like to have a good first experience. Should I postpone this trip for a few weeks and hope it cools down some, or should I go this weekend and just hope for the best? It will be fun either way, I guess.

My wife is my best fishing buddy, prepare to get outfished, while you are looking at sonar, running the trolling motor, zeroing in on the brushpile, flipping off the lake lice, judging the wind, deploying the drift sock, etc, she is fishing.

I sure hope so! I don't care who catches them as long as they get in the live well.

My wife loves to just be in the boat. Catching is a bonus.

Agree totally, while i'm figuring out the best way to approach the brush in the wind, my wife is catching fish. If it is slow you can always scout for future days and enjoy being on the water.

If she’s wanting to go, take her! Just explain that sometimes there’s a difference between fishing and catching [emoji3]

Yup, I would take her. I want my wife to go but she (so far) doesn't care about fishing. She does like the kayak so baby steps.... we will get there.

For sure take her[emoji106]. If you catch fish, great! If not, it will still be a great time on the lake together. I doubt she is expecting to catch a limit, so just getting a taste would be good! Go for it, and enjoy.

Let her drive the trolling motor and you fish!

Took my wife in the spring, I had a 14 ft john boat with a 25hp motor. She caught over 50 crappie, all sizes. On the way back to the ramp she said I loved fishing today, but can you get a bigger boat. Now all I have to say is we need this for our boat an she's all in, no questions asked!
