Tuesday am with cuonthelake 8/20/2018
We had planned to fish today but the weatherman said yesterday that there was an 80% chance of rain today, so we postponed our trip until tomorrow. I got up and the driveway was dry and so I looked at the radar on my phone and it showed no rain until about 12:30 or so. About that time, Candi texted me and asked if I was fishing and I said no. She suggested that we fish and beat the rain..
So off we went and no sooner did we get out at 8:30 when we had to put on rainsuits. Lying weatherman. It was windy as heck and the fish were apparently feeling the effects of this quick front passage, because they were stuck on the bottom and mouths were shut tight. We did manage a few that we caught under docks but they were short all except the one crappie that cuonthelake caught. 12” Black crappie caught on a BG double silver 2” slab slayer.
I got got her on numbers but none of my crappie were keepers. But I did get big fish of the day on my final cast. Bluecat about 3 lbs. lunch for DK. Grin. By this time it was 11:15 and I usually have a boat rule that says that you can’t quit on a caught fish. You must make one more cast. I didn’t get to make that cast. A low rumble of thunder sent us scurrying for the boat ramp. We put the boat on the trailer and just as we were pulling out of the parking lot, the rains came. Earlier than predicted.
she did try to help me catch one crappie as you can tell by th pic. I also caught a nice Bluegill.
As I type this post in at 1:55 pm, the sun is shining at my house. Lying weatherman.
