Vexus Boat Company

Had a great experience yesterday in Flippin, Arkansas when I was privileged to take a private tour of the new 115,000 square foot Vexus boat factory. They are still sanding, painting the interior the facility as well as pouring concrete on the entrance drive. “STATE OF THE ART” doesn’t begin to describe their whole operation. At the same time all this is going on, they had about 20 new aluminum boats in various stages of completion. And the people who are behind this company are previous Ranger Boat owners/employees. Does the name Forest L. Wood ring any bells ? I recently sold my 21 year old Ranger 518SVS that I bought from Reeves Marine and got slightly over 50% of what I paid for it new, so I decided to buy one of the new Ranger aluminum boats........until I heard about and saw the new Vexus AVX 1980 model. Same $ cost but a lot more boat for the money. If you are thinking about a new boat, I highly recommend talking with Junior at Real Deal Marine in Alexandria. He is the only Louisiana dealer right now but they will be setting up two more to give statewide coverage. Before I recently bought my Xpress I checked out their website. Their boats look great. Only reason I didn’t look harder at buying one is b/c they don’t have a center console model right now. That was a must for me. I’ve heard the same things from others though, they’re made by former Ranger employees and seem to be very well built.

They have the AVX 1980 CC in a pretty medium blue/white color combination center console model sitting on production room floor, ready to ship. It’s rated for a 150 HP motor:biggrin

I did not push my luck by trying to take pics. They had too many proprietary operations going on. I’m sure they will have a picture of it on their web site very shortly. One feature of all Vexas boats that appealed to me was real dry box storage. They accomplish this by fabricating their own fiberglass boxes that have about a 3/4” or 1” lip extending from the box opening and then installing a rubber gasket that is glued all the way around and joined. The lid seals with a stainless steel compress latch just like a $65,000.00 fiberglass boat. The whole box fits down in the aluminum superstructure of the boat and all voids are filled with closed cell foam for upright floatation and sealing the compartments in place....solid as a rock !

My wife and I are headed to the Vexus factory today and we'll drive a few boats as well. Should be fun!

I have the Ranger RT188, seriously considering selling and buying a Vexus. They look real nice.

Looked on site and they don't have the hull depth. What is the depth?
