I was in attendance today, and the turnout was tremendous.
Also the scripted speeches of Comer and the witnesses/government agencies was just not my cup of tea. It truly appeared that they were given the questions to the test so they could prepare before hand.
All in all, action speaks louder than words. There will be alot of eyes on Comer and all state and U.S representatives to deliver.

Did they tell us anything we didn't know?
I attended the meeting today. Lot's of words. As the country song goes a little less talkin' and a lot more action, please. Solution emphasis was on commercial fishing, while that is a good stopgap measure, the crowd make it pretty clear that 100% eradication is what they want. Comer mentioned a chemical or genetic solution and the desire for the crowd to burst out in applause was palpable.
My fear is that massive capital investment in carp catching, handling, processing and shipping equipment will result in a permanent industry that relies on the survival of the carp at marketable population levels. Too big to abandon.
My fear exactly. How many people with money and power have sat back and waited till they found out how to make money off of them? I think they have waited until the population got so big they will not be able to catch more than a small percentage. Intentional?
