Mixed bag on high rock

Went to high rock today with Mac crappie. Pulling cranks with my planer boards. Brought 9 good size crappie home threw back some white perch and small dinks. Only caught 1 white crappie the other 8 are black. Correct me if I'm wrong but high rock is known for predominately black crappie I think. Hope to go to tucker town or back to high rock at the end of the week. Thanks mac for a good time [emoji106]

Good job! High Rock is mostly black crappie, but the only lake around here I've caught/saw white crappie.

Good report. High Rock has probably more black crappie than whites but a good lake for whites. Tucker town and Badin have whites but not as many as High Rock. I seem to catch more whites in Abbott’s Creek than anywhere else on the lake. You guys are making me want to pull some cranks!

Gene I run my baits out to what ever depth I want them to run the I put on my planer boards and run that out to the desired width I want away from my boat

Nice. Never used my planers for crappie, but need to give
it a try.

I find more whites on cover at High Rock and more blacks in open water. Went night fishing there last week and caught 50 nice ones. Not a single white. All in open water 19-22' feet on a ledge.

When you pull back on the rod it makes the line come out of the release clip and as you reel the fish in the board slides down the line via the snap swivel that your line runs through. The board will eventually ride up against the fish
