Crappie on maiden voyage of new boat 7/01/18
Yesterday, Drs Phillip Gawthrop and Charles Han went with me on the new boat that is still to be named. Riding along at 3500 rpms for the first hour with a minor stop to catch 7 keeper crappie and 2 shorts, we continued on to mark a special spot on the Lowrance Elite TI 7.
The second hour of break in speeds called for 4500 rpm with occasional one minute runs of wot (wide open throttle). We saw some white bass schooling during the second hour and stopped long enough to catch 3 and have a spotted bass leap about two feet into the air and toss the crappie jig back at us. Dr Han got in the catching act with a yellow bass. His first yellow bass.
We were having a minor issue with the boat and decided to put boat back on the trailer and call it a good brief morning. I can continue the break in period on my next time out.
