If it wasn't 9000 %$&#!#! degrees outside I would say you hit the same ice burg that sunk the Titanic. That's a heck of a hit!!
Was going 10 mph, must have been just under the surface. No tree tops in sight.
going to have to figure out a repair strategy once it quits draining.
Big ouch.
:yikes WoW I bet that stopped you dead in the water.
Is that a rib running down the front of the pontoon or is that just the two sides, welded together? I've never paid that much attention to the leading edge of a pontoon. If that's some sort of rib, that's going to make a repair tougher.
Those pontoon mends can a problem, hope it's something a new bead will fix.
Wow..
Sudden stop

We actually bounced off sideways but was quite a bang. Not a rib.
The hole is ragged. But not huge sort of curled.
I wish there was a reasonable tig welder around.
I’ve tried the torch and alumalite rods on other projects and not impressed.
JB weld now has a marine formula they are bragging on.
I might call them to check it out.
Just bring it down to Alabama and I'll fix it. We repair aluminum daily. :)
