couple of helix issues
I recently added a helix 7 to my mix and I am having some issues with it. I have an 898 and 859 up front and the helix 7 and 1198 si on the rear. The helix shows random depths mostly extremely deep in shallow water which seems to be a common problem. I have adjusted on the sensitivity and clutter as I read in some other places to fix this but that doesnt please me because I want to be able to see and set sensitivity in shallow water ( less than 15'). The next issue is that the helix and 1198 seem to be pinging off each other. The helix is a chirp and I have barely played with the sonar settings on both units but with the helix on the 1198 has lines every so often that messes with the screen. I have turned the helix off and the issue goes away and what little adjustments I made to the helix sonar settings helped at times but still not happy with it.

Other HELIX adjustments you can try are ...:
*Set Beam Frequency under the Sonar tab to "High" ...
*Switchfire Max and adjust 2d Sensitivity ...
*Max Depth under the Sonar tab to 10ft deeper than deepest point in your lake ...
*Turn off CHIRP (2d) under the Setup tab ...
Still no confirmation from HB that they are looking into this erratic depth issue ...
-----
2 units transmitting the same frequency at the same time can commonly cause Crosstalk interference ...
If the units are networked - you can set both units to use the same xducer in the Networking tab to eliminate Crosstalk interference ...

Thanks Ricky. I added this unit to run maps and di while using si on my 1198 so looks like I may not be able to accomplish what I set out for.
