I read several reports that mention lake lice. At first I thought they were insects but it's seems the term lake lice refers to pleasure boaters. Am I right or wrong or both

Any form of jet ski is a form of water lice or on the big called a favorite name is water cricket for the annoying noise they make. They can ruin a peaceful morning for sure. They cant keep them out in the open lake or on the river they have to nose them around where you usually are trying to fish/troll/anchor. Its like they want you to see how much money they or their daddy wasted on a personal water craft, while most of us could take the same amount of money and get a decent used fishing boat. The good news is that they don't wake up or appear until about 9 or 10 in the mornings most weekends on the big G, thats when you know its time to go home hopefully with a few fish you caught by fishing very early.
I’d rather deal with head lice than lake lice! There’s a cure for head lice!!:biggrin
Not a problem down here in the river swamp but the nice creeks and Rivers in the south part of Mobile county get pretty infested
The crazy thing is I see them in November through February now.
