This is the second time that I have fished Grenada Lake ever and a skunk was due... One catfish and one white bass and that was it. Lots of wind. It was difficult to keep rods out of the water with the boat rolling. I tried a couple of depths ranging from 15 FOW to 40 FOW without any change in success.
The lake was cloudy- cloudy enough that I couldn't see the prop on the engine. We'll try again in a few weeks when the wind lays down a little and the lake clears up a lot.
You made it on and off her, it was a good day. Grenada can be a pain this time of year and it takes patience which she has taught me. Don't give up on her, she rewards you well on the good days.
Thanks, and I'll definitely try again. I was surprised to see so much depth and contour change out in open water that would almost definitely hold fish in the other lakes. Those dips from 15' to 30' and then back up are usually the ticket. That's why I think the lack of water clarity was a big deal because I got nothing. I did come across a couple of spots that look like they would be dynamite in the early fall and spring pre-spawn.Quote:

Several years back I caught the largest stringer(limit) I had ever caught at Bryant . Never lost sight of the ramp . took a friend the next day and caught 4-5 all day . About the time you think you have Grenada by the ear you will realize it is the tail . Like john says "different" animal from Enid . Have left Choctaw with 2 and drove to Longbranch and catch a limit . All but one of my top 5 came from Grenada though .Keep on keeping on ! :juggle

Grenada is a different Lake every time you go bout when you think you got them figured out they will throw you a curve ball.
