Taylorsville vs. Green River

Looking for advice here. I live in Lexington, and I've been hitting green river lately. I can always catch fish there, but as most know, the size of those fish tends to be on the small side. My bigger issue is that it's a pretty good haul there and in the summer months I like to get there early before it gets hot. That makes for a looooong day, especially with a 7 year old.

Taylorsville is quite a bit closer, but I have no experience on that lake at all. Do any of you have any pointers as to where to put in, and if there are general areas to spider rig? I'm just looking for a little quicker trip so we can get in more time on the water.

You can catch fish at taylorsville from the river end to the dam spider rigging,just a little trickier with the standing timber in places. But also have the option to vertical jig the trees or use slipfloats around visible cover. Lots of options at taylorsville but may have to try a few areas before you find active fish or the size you're looking for.

Taylorsville is fine during the week. The weekend is another story.
