This is general observations from fishing April and the last three weekends or so. This is a multi-species report but I tend to concentrate on crappies.
- This has been a very strange spring. Fishing has been so different than previous years for me - in general not as good.
- My goto brush piles have not produced. I had one good session on a brush pile in the middle of the day about three weeks ago. Nearly had a heat stroke but they were biting good so I couldn't leave. Otherwise, the brush piles that usually produce a lot of quality fish - nada.
- I waiting and waited for the bream spawn to start. Hit my usually beds. Nada! Had to find new spots which was fun, but again the bream spawn was so strange this year.
- Yesterday the fish were in 9-10 fow. Couldn't find the crappie but the white perch were out of their minds biting anything I dropped in the water.
Anyhow, that's how my spring went :)
