I fished Norman this past weekend and the crappie were very hard to find. It seems the crappie fishing for me on Norman just gets worse and worse each year. I blame it on the white perch. Maybe on spots as well? Most everything we caught was 15-30 feet deep near the bottom.

I think its the spotted bass! they are taking over! normans hasn't been too good the last few years for me. Now the spotted bass are get out of hand on moss and I've noticed the crappie fishing has went down hill bad the last 2 years. Them spotted bass eat all the time, even when the crappie want hit, you can always catch spotted bass.
Rarely see a largemouth anymore. How do we fix it?
I always keep my limit of spots (aka piranhas) . believe me when i tell you that they eat BETTER than crappie. only way to fix this.
Most of the LM are in the upper end of the lake, but yes its a dying fishery.
personally ive seen the crappie fishing about the same now compared to years ago. only thing is you have to find spots that are not getting beat to death by everyone else. takes some time to replenish a dock that has been fished hard on LKN in my opinion.
Thank you guys for all the conversation, sounds like we need to build more brushpiles. I have a few piles I've been waiting to drop, I have some crappie cakes to tie on them aswell...
Hope to meet some of you on Norman one day, I'll be in a 18ft deepV Tracker boat
