I will be visiting dale hollow in late july and would like to try and get on some walleye. Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated will be staying at the campground close to the state golf course there. Send me a pm if you had rather than answer directly on here. Do you have line counter reels, ability to measure speed to tenths of a mile per hours, and planer boards to troll with precision, etc, otherwise you will be guessing. I had best results a year ago in june trolling with crawler harnesses. Keep your night crawlers in ice water to keep them firm. Fishing depth depended on the fish i was marking and thus weight changed. Recommend you get out there, mark fish, and figure out the right weight to use and at what speed. Water is clear then so i used nickel or natural color spinner blades. Down riggers are best but most dont have those. I hope this helps as my knowledge is dates and looks like others are looking for info without sharing any after 200 views.
Success could be spotty by yourself. You may want to hire a guide. They can be difficult to catch on the deep clear Dale Hollow.
Depends how your fishing, key is to make the baits look as natural as possible. Most crawler harnesses are made with fluorocarbon, i usually want a longer fluorocarbon leader in clear water to get the bait away from the weight, or make my own fluorocarbon leader if need be on a swivel. This means you need alittle more speed also for the bait to perform correctly. I guess im used to fishing crystal clear water walleye fishing in mn.
