Hello there from the Tennessee forum. I'll be in Hilton Head from June 23rd - July 1st. First vacation with the wife's family and I am desperately looking for some fishing opportunities in the area. Bass, crappie, and bluegill fishing preferably. Any advice would be greatly appreciated or if there are any guides in the area would love to hear from you also. I wouldn't mind driving a little ways to satisfy my urge. Thanks!
there's some fine saltwater fishing down there. Check out charlestonfishing.com there's a section for Hilton head

Shark fishing is fun if you just wanna feel the pull. That said....I prefer using a med/heavy bass rod and catch 'em up to the length of your leg. Any cutbait will work....even frozen squid bought from Walmart.;) If you wanna keep any just know your species and what the law allows for you can keep. And...don't stick your hand in their mouth to get your hook back. he he he :)
It seems freshwater fishing is limited on the island. If you google freshwater fishing near Hiltonhead, results were still majority salt water with the exception of Jarvis creek.
Take a trip Cobia fishing. Not as good as fried crappie but good eating.

Yes, that's what I'm starting to figure out. I haven't done much saltwater fishing in my time but I have caught some nice flounder in myrtle beach.Quote:
