Went out to Grenada this morning to pull cranks. Caught around 15 but only kept 6. The trophy of the day though was an 11.5 inch magnolia. Caught a bunch of 4-6 inch dinks, more than I usually do. Hopefully a good sign for years to come.

Nice!!! I caught two 13" magnolia's out of one stake bed in Wolf Creek several years ago. Lot of fun for sure.
After a little googling I’m wondering if it’s not actually just a black crappie with a stripe. It was caught in Grenada and it doesn’t sound like they are stocked in that body of water. Either way it’s a first for me.
Congratulations! Nice crappie for sure.
I’ve caught a few of those myself at Chotard and I know they were not stocked there. I think it’s just stripe on his nose. Typically Magnolia crappie are stocked in small waters because they do not reproduce.

Probably just a black crappie with a stripe. A recessive trait of black crappie. About 1 in 10 have it. How the Magnolia crappie was created
