Hit the lake on Friday looking for a little crappie action. With rain and storms forecast, I stayed close to the ramp, and focused my efforts in water 12 foot and less. I found the fish biting even during the flooding rains that persisted most of my time on the water. Two to three inches rain fell, and a box of crappie fell victim to my offering of vertically presented blue and chartreuse jigs.

Great catch. Staying out in weather like we had, shows a lot of determination.

I actually like days like that. I have a very nice rain suit so I didn’t get wet. No lighting close by, and winds were tolerable. The rains only kept the less determined, and pleasure boaters at bay.

Congratulations Bro, Glad you could catch some more of those nice crappies. I find it more calming, fishing in the rain. I haven't fished Santee much for crappie but am planning on it soon. Thanks for sharing !!
After attending a wedding party on Saturday midday, we got back home around 2:00. I loaded up the boat, and headed to the lake. Started fishing at 3:30. A couple of hours later me and a limit was heading home. Best color was green on chartreuse.
