Help with Helix 10 Mega
I have been absolutely ecstatic about my Helix 10 and thanks to many on this forum (thanks Rickie) have learned a lot about using it effectively. As I grow older I find I do not seem to need all the bells and whistles and would like to cut down the number of views offered as I rotate through the screens. Can I use the menu to turn screen views off (such as three panes of info on one screen) and limit the views to a handy 6, or so? I am using the preset buttons so that helps a bunch. I also have the remote and find scrolling through 10+ screens to be annoying. Thanks all for your knowledge and willingness to share.

Removing redundant or non-used views is the most important advice I give students to make them more efficient with their unit ...
Why have 4 (or more) different combo screens of 1 piece of data ...
Keep visible the most used screen combos ... And Hide the rest ...

And always keep full screen Chart as a preset button ...
1 preset button click to have instant access to Chart zoom (+ or -) ...without having to worry which side of a Chart/x combo view is active ...and then change that active side to the Chart side - then exit out of the menus = before You can even zoom the Chart ...
The Chart zoom level (in a Chart/x combo view) will be at the zoom level selected in the full screen Chart view (after returning to the Chart/x combo view) ...

Somehow I figured Rickie would jump in and I am so glad I asked this obvious question. I will plug my unit back in and start resetting views to include the full screen preset. Cannot thank you enough.

Me thinks Rickie doesn't like much clutter in his lifestyle ... ; )
Mine is set so it defaults to Split Chart/Chart which is one "click" away from full screen - and I usually go split screen.
Of course many times one or more of my units are in a GPS screen, so folks with a 1 or 2 display setup will find Rickie's advice most effective.:ThumbsUp
Something else I recommend to do is to place your shortcuts in the "middle" of your rotation.
I.E. - if you have say 10 views enabled (I keep System Status - GPS Data - Accessory all enabled BECAUSE I want that data.) then set your shortcuts as close to 3 views apart for "one click up ~ one click down" convenience.
Rickie is what I consider a HB Power User as most would say about me - but I have only a few views hidden and I like to have all data and adjustments readily available, NOT your typical plug N play guy.
