Looks cool. Never have done this before. What type of rods do you use?

The rods in my spread are nothing fancy. The two aft are academy 6.5' med. bait casting. The two fore are B n' M West Point Crappie rods in 10' and 12'.

I used left over bass rods. Whatever rods would hold a reel. Git to dragging anything and everything behind the boat. White spinner baits. Rattle traps jigs cranks. When I first started I held 3 rods. Love the thump!!

I started like vet did....now i use BnM PST's....2 8 footers straight out the back of the boat.....a 10 footer and a 14 footer straight out each side at the back of the boat....gives me 4 ft of separation for easier turns....also gives me a 36 ft spread total....so covering more water. I moved up to line counter reels for figuring my depth easier....i guess the distance of line from rod tip to water and let that much more out to what my depth chart gives for line out measurement for the depth I want to fish. Makes things easier and more accurate.

I run six trolling rods, 16',14',and 12', and two cheap 7' spincast combos. My trolling rods have line counters. The shorter rods I just best guess my cast and run them on the inside. Still would like to make a custom rod holder to stagger them differently and add more rods. For now, this works fine. You don't need long trolling rods, but as mentioned, it helps cover more water. Maybe Theygotaeat will post a pic of his rig in action. Then you'll see something!
