Attachment 299651Some days the bass move in were the gills are and that is all I can catch, in fact I only got one nice copper nose today but lost it at the boat trying to get it in the net. These bass are a hand full on UL tackle but a ton of fun if you can land them.
I love baas to, catch a few every time I go Blue Gill fishing.
Fun on light tackle for Sure! Usually catch a few of those chasing gills also!
That's a good largemouth for ultralight! Bet that was fun.
Did the same a few days ago: perch, crappie, sunfish and three bass - one that was 14". Thought it was going to break the rod as it dove under the boat!
I bet that was fun! That is what I like about fishing small jigs on UL equipment, you never know what will be on the end of your line.
Don't you just hate it we you get one of those trash fish on the line? :biggrin
I ketch a bass or 3 lots of times on my outings and this year seems worse than ever before on them for me .....
I don't care for the fight much myself as I cant power pull them like a panfish ....
but in the end sometimes they are fun

I went fishing yesterday at a city pond. The bluegills weren't active, so I tied on a 1/16 white Beetle Spin and caught four bass stacked up in the windward end of the pond. It was fun, and the Beetle Spins were a day saver.
