I've been tossing that idea around in my head also. The water temp is in the 70s, gonna give it a try when I get back from the Toledo Bend gathering.
We wound up with 22 and brought 10 home. Only 1 on a crankbait the rest on jigs. We only had 1 crank out.Attachment 298711this is what my fishing partner does when it gets slow Attachment 298716

I think you are going to find cranks don’t work as well on blacks as it does on whites. The whites school more in open water where cranks really shine. Plus blacks feed More on smaller stuff than whites which feed more on shad.
