Built A power distribution system today. I added aluminum U channels, one for 12V and the other for 24V. After installing the wiring in the U channels, I covered the channels with 4 inch aluminum flat stock. This arrangement should prevent some noise issues. Like! A few of us have been discussing, why major boat builders don’t put in more conduit.
I get tired of trying to pull cables/wires thru impossible places!
Your doing it the right way! Of course.
I am hoping blue tooth or WiFi is coming to fish finders soon. No more Ethernet cables to pull.

The power to the front of the Pondtoon was run under the aluminum trim strip along the deck. I had shorting issues where the wiring got chaffed at the aft corners. It was really cheezzzie arrangement from the factory or assembler. Took a while to figure out what I really wanted. This is my best option.
I can add more U channels if needed. Up to 4 channels.
So the smaller wires into the Box is 12v , and the heavier going forward is 24v for a Trolling Motor???
Yes. 6 gauge for the TM and 10 gauge for the appliances up front. I always hide the wiring, but that big stuff is not easy to disguise.

I agree, with manufacturers adding conduit, it wouldn't cost much more.
