Windy day on the river.
Tough, windy day on the river. Wind gusts were around 25 MPH. My nephew and I caught 7 good crappie...some Gills.....some short walleye. My nephew was using same rod as me...Tict Ice Cube 6’ 9” Mebaru UL setup with a Daiwa Certate 2004CH spooled with SOS 2# test line. He was using a Midnight Blue ThunderHawk Dancer and I was using a 1/16 Fin Spin dressed with a Bison colored Trout Magnet. Shortest crappie was 12.5 inches.....best was 14 inches....and another one almost at 14 inches and a couple at 13 inches. The TM fits a little awkwardly on the 1/16 but TM is soon to have some 1/32 out and I can tell you that a TM on a 1/32 ounce Fin Spin is deadly on panfish. I don’t put in for TARP certificates but today just added to my list of TARP size crappie.....14 inches or better. These black nose crappie put up a great fight.....Life is good.
Regards
