4-11 & 12 -2018 on Murray

I had been averaging about 12 to 15 Crappie per trip for the past few weeks but messed up and found some ShellCrackers a few days ago so the wife had to go Shellcraker fishing. We caught them pretty good yesterday (4-11) and I caught all of mine on a jig whereas she was using crickets, at one point I had her 5 to 1 but she almost caught me. Shellcracker do fight quite hard and we had a good time ending up with the ones pictured. Today we tried the Crappie and I met a few guys from this site at the landing, really nice people. We fished docks and laydowns and emergent grass and I managed to catch 5 keepers but it was pretty rough. The bucks were black as could be and the females seemed full of eggs. It was by no means fast and furious today but it was fun.

Nice catch those crackers are nice. I wanted to go today but lowes was supposed to deliver a new lawn mower I bought so I sat around all day waiting on them and they never showed. Found out was suppose to be next Thursday so now it will be Sunday.

Way to go!! Those are some great catches. Murray has been hit or miss but it looks like you have them dialed in as usual this time of year. It should only get better too!! Thanks for sharing.

Oh yeah, wait till the post spawn is in full effect that is when I really enjoy fishing. These fish that I have been catching were just a bonus and taught me that they will bite my style of fishing even when everyone else is out dragging lines in deeper water.
