Crappie fishing with best friend 4/11/2018
I took my best friend crappie fishing this afternoon. She just happens to be my wife and she is a keeper for sure. It was a tough afternoon for some unknown reason. No floater bites at all today, so everything that we caught were tight lining jigs. That is okay with me because that is my favorite technique anyway. I love the floater bite when it is hot, but not so much when it is not.
We caught our fish on 1/32 oz jigs with Southern Pro Panfish Stingers in pearl color. The bite was almost non-detectable, so my honey had trouble catching fish. She did catch one, but I had her to hold up a couple of nice fish so that I could get a pic. Water surface temp was 56.8 when we launched and over 58 when we stopped around 4 PM.
If I get an offer, I would like to try tail water fishing in the morning, but plans haven't been made yet. I'm still waiting on word from a person that I promised this week, but he hasn't come through with the info yet. As late in the week as it is getting, I'm thinking that he won't call this week.
