I went out for a few hours Saturday evening and found a few in 8 feet of water on a submerged tree. Water temp was 58. The bite was slow and they were on the bottom. Caught them on a white and red deer hair jig. Sure was fun to feel that thump.

Thanks for the report! I've lived in the Fort Smith area for a long time and never tried it out.
Those are some pretty fish. It looks like those hair jigs are paying dividends.
Now, that is the way to give a fishing report right there !! See post on "What happened to Arkansas fishing reports" I bet that didn't hurt a bit, did it Matt ??? I never even heard of Sugarloaf Lake or Hinkle, so I doubt I'll ever be fishing on your fallen tree that you found them on...............
