Lake St. John 4-2-18
Last day of my wife's spring break, so I load her up at 5:00 AM (she is still mad at me about the 4:30 wake up call) and we head to St. John. The Lord surely blessed us today. It was a beautiful day on the water and we made it over there and back (180 miles) without incident.
We fished from about 7:30 until about 2:00, although one of us didn't fish all of the time (there was a lot of bird watching involved) and we had to make a couple of runs back to the landing for restroom calls. We kept 19, probably 13 of them females. They were in 4-6 feet of water. Most of them were caught on cypress trees on a chartreuse hair jig that I tied. All of the females had some of the eggs left in them. Water temp was 69 degrees. We had 5lbs 3 ozs of boneless filets.
Let me see if I can load some pictures.
