Another Crappie Winter in the Books

My parents have been spending winters on the St. Johns River in Astor for 19 years. They troll for crappie almost exclusively; 12 rod setup, pushing 4 and pulling 8 at 1 mph using 1/24oz jigs usually. They fish the river and lakes Dexter and Woodruff and sometimes George. They had another pretty good year as they usually do. I was only able to get down for a week to fish with them this year but it was a good week in January. They have the boat loaded and will be heading north to Indiana in a day or 2. God willing they will be back after Christmas to do it all over again!
