Slow start but enough for a mess
Pretty day here yesterday and after 2 days at my wife’s mommas I NEEDED to go fishing! I hit a local lake and found 25 boats in the lot and the water at 45 degrees. The entire bank I typically fish was lined up like a buffet on Friday night so I moved on to the opposite shoreline where only 2 boats were sitting. I saw the back boat dip the net at the back of the boat so just maybe there were a few fish up the bank. As I went by I noticed a little girl bored out of her mind practicing to dip her dad’s fish. :)
I had been pulling a jig and a small crank and never had a bump so I soon rigged a few small road runners w electric chicken and flipped them into the murky lake and slowed down to barely a crawl. I marked fish from 13’-16’ and ended up getting 13 keepers and 4-5 throw backs in a few hours. All in all it was a huge blessing just getting out and I am having crappie tonight!! As I was idling back to the dock a large bald eagle cruised by and a great sunset closed it out.
