No, not at all and I have been using braid 5-6 yrs now and primarily use braid.
Thanks. I too have never had a problem. Use a lot of braid. Another person who has the same rod as 1 of mine said that after 4 weeks of braid it cut grooves so badly that mono now has nicks on every cast. I have used braid on many rods without problem so I was in disbelief. :donoQuote:

In any case, knowing that the metal content of stainless guides is so variable, it's a valid reason not to select them. Aluminum oxide insert guides have been around for a lot of years. Much harder material than stainless. The only other material harder is carbide. When I was "into" pike fishing many years ago, all the tip top guides on all my heavy rods were/are carbide. Indestructible.
Crestliner08 is right. All guides are not created equal.
Negative. Even on my saltwater rods with stainless guides I haven’t had any issues with grooving from either PowerPro or Suffix braid.
no sir I have not had any issues with stainless eyes as of yet
