A wet Bayou Des Allemands trip.
I had plan on the weather people to be wrong with the weather and I have my first all day trip, we had lunch and all drinks ready to go, but they were right and we got WET! We boated 20 and keep 12 Sacs and 2 bass... Missed about 10 more....all big boys and 1 big girl still had eggs but didn’t have the bright, big red vanes. All caught on trees. I personal let a big one get off at the boat :banghead it took a run I thought I had a bass, Caden that it was a bass cause of the size of the mouth, but then it rolled, and I knew what it was... Caden was fighting tree limbs, cause I let the boat drift while I was fighting it, net wasn’t out yet and I tried to flip it in the boat and elbow tendinitis keep me from doing it, I tried stripping line and feeding to my pole hand and line slipped and slack was given and my big Sac was gone. I may have to switch to a reel and 10ft pole instead of my favorite jigging pole(Slater’s Jigging pole)..... looking at the Vexan crappie rods, reel TBD. Over all great short trip, one day I will get A trip where i’m not pushed for time or get rain out.
