Fishing the Silverfiish, Little Shot and Stingers at Lake Purdy
Hey Snake River, yesterday I picked a pretty terrible day to go fishing. but it was one day I could go out for a few hours. I left the house about 9:15 a.m. Because of a North Easter the Temperature here in Alabama was 38 degrees with plenty of wind gusts. The high was only expected to be 61 degrees. Sunny skies so I decided do go fishing with just Silverfish, Stingers and Little Shots. I fished the Stingers and Little Shot on 1/16 Road Runner heads by tight lining. The Tiny Silverfish were fished on 1/64th pinmins and 1/80th jig heads under a slip float.

I tried to dress warmly for the cold temperatures and the high winds but it was useless. There was a chop on the water and a chop in the coves.

I fished out by the solar panels in 48 feet of water and fished the coves in about 14 to 18 feet of water. I long lined by trolling and fished slip floats. The winds and the waves made it very difficult.

I did catch 31 keeper size crappie and 7 Spotted bass. Also caught about 10 crappie that were under the 9" minimum size. All of the fish that were kept were caught on the Little Shot or a 2" Stinger tight lined on a Road Runner. I was not able to catch anything on the silverfish.
