Good source on carpet?

I am working on my 70’s model Landau boat. It might be 77-‘79, I cant remember. Its the size of a nice Bass Tracker with a very thick front end. It was a super nice crappie boat in it’s day, and still is to me. I have a 50 Evinrude on it, and I have a 55 Nissan as well, and I might put it on there. Right now, Im working inside the boat. Does anyone know good places on the net or otherwise to buy marine carpet? What ounce or mm etc carpet is best? Not too plush and not too hard. Ive looked at alot on the web, but I must admit, I dont know anything about it. I am assuming that there isn’t any kind of pad or liner btw the carpet and the floor.?
Any kind hints, tips or tricks on installation and buying marine will be greatly appreciated.

I had a buddy that bought a new 18’ Landau in 82. Nice deep V with a 70 Evinrude. We fished Bay of Quinte in Canada for Walleye out of it for 15 years! He sold it to another buddy and it’s still going strong. You got a good one there!! Sorry I can’t help with carpet:(

I have some experience in recarpeting my boat a few years ago. I'm sure others can share their experiences, too. The carpet I chose was 20 oz. marine grade purchased from an Ebay seller boatcarpetsales. For my 17' aluminum bass boat I went with 8' wide x 18' long. The seller sent me a roll 22' long! My decks were plywood, which I replaced. The adhesive I used was outdoor carpet cement from Lowes that I used on the flat surfaces. For wrapping the edges, I used sub-floor adhesive - not the low VOC stuff and stainless steel staples. Wore out a brand new staple gun in the process. Make a sketch of your boat layout to help you decide how much to buy. Keep the pieces oriented in the same direction so it doesn't look funny when you install hatches, etc. I used a red sharpie to mark the backing with arrows.

Marine grade from Menards. Make sure you buy the cut-pile type or you will be fighting hook-snags!

I too have used the Menards and Lowes Marine (rubber backed outdoor) carpet. I prefer the Menards version over the Lowes version. At the time Lowes didn't offer a snag less option and it was a pain in the tushy. Menards does offer a snag less option and it's what I installed in my current boat.

When I re-carpeted no one in my area even heard of Menards. :dono
