Humminbird Y Cable Frustration for new set up.
Ok we have a Helix 9 mega, Helix 7 si gps, Minnkota Terrova and running the mega transducer along with a xnt 9 20 T for depth at speed . We have bought what we need to network everything EXCEPT getting the Terrova hooked in to one of the depth finders. So I called Humminbird to find out what we needed to do. The person I talked to told me we needed a 9 MIDB Y cable. I ordered this becasue she she told me we could hook both the 9 20 T and the Terrova into it, hook it to the 7 be able to back feed it through the ethernet port and get it to the 9. Well I get the y today and the sockets are not right to hook both of those up at all. It is clearly labled side/image on one side and dual beam on the other (yes I asked her at the time about if we could hook both up considering it states one is side image she told me yes we could). So now as I am reading it and it says it is good for mega transducers. The only problem I have is there is one socket on the mega cable that is blank in the y cable. So can someone tell me is this 9 M SIDB Y can actually be used on the mega or not??? Sorry would like to load pics but don't have any right now. TIA

The M is for mega so yes you can plug your mega ducer in that plug. The DB is for the high speed 2d ducer. You can mount the si ducer from the helix 7 externally to the terrova. You can run an Ethernet cable from the 7 and the terrova back to hub. Run an Ethernet cable from the 9 back to the hub. The appropriate dongles will be needed on the ff ends of the ethernet cables.
Now if you plan on having the 7 plug into the built in US2 ducer of the terrova then you will need the dongle for that as well.
