Coffeen lake?

Has anyone been to coffeen lately? I've only been there once and didn't do any good but I've heard good things about the lake. Just wondering if anyone had any reports or pointers. Or knew if the plant is running. Thanks

I had similar questions about Sangchris a couple weeks ago and contacted a guy that works there. He answered my questions about the plant running. He also said you can call the plant and they will tell you if they are running or not. I would assume you could contact Coffeen plant and ask them before making the drive.

Went today plant is running, water came up 2 plus ft and is pretty muddy. Crappie were tough today but the bass were biting pretty good. Water is 60 at ramp and 70 in hot ditch

Went yesterday. Lake is up, shouldn't take it long to drop, overflow damn. 1-2' visibility. 50 something at the ramp, 60+ at entrance to hot water ditch. That's all the farther I went. It was so foggy I could only see halfway up the smoke stack, or as our daughter called it when she was little, the cloud maker.

Crappie fishing still slow , water is coming down but still pretty muddy.

I fished Coffeen all winter long soon as duck season was over I went into crappie mode. The colder and nastier it was the bigger and more fish we’d catch. Last two times I went were nice warm days and could barely get half a limit. I’ve started fishing other lakes now the water is warming up everywhere else.

Nasty pothole in middle of road, in front of Indian cove campground entrance.
Thursday morning, 55° at the ramp. 2' visibility.

Fish have scatter out of hot ditch since water has warmed. Hearing a few fish caught but have to work hard to find them.

Is there a HP limit there?
