Ice out crappie 2-23-18

Did some wading at a NE Ohio lake today and it turned out pretty dang good! Caught around 50 crappie between 7-11”” fishing a 1/64th jig and 1” Black Shad gulp under a float 18””- 3ft deep. Fish were caught in 4-6fow in and around the weeds. Didn’t plan on keeping any so all were released. Orange and black were the top producing jig colors. It was great to get out and do some casting & catch some fish. [emoji2]

Thanks it’s been a fairly productive winter. I love fishing the late winter/early spring bite with soft plastics! Hopefully the rains will cut us a some slack here soon.

I'm Crappiedude on OGF and I followed your live ice fishing reports or at least I followed them the best I could.
I love late winter/early spring too but everything down here in the SW corner of the state is a mess right now. It's going to be a while before some of these lakes get back to normal.

Yeah things didn’t work out at OGF so I’m gonna start posting more here & IFO. Hopefully the waters in your area get fishable soon. I haven’t done any fishing in the Southwest part of the state but I’ve fished everywhere else. It’s on my list!
