Great Day Yesterday
I put my boat in the water and Crappie fished for the first in 6 months due to surgeries. I'm the mend but still have issues with 5 bulging discs in my lower back. Enough about all that.
I called up my friend that fishes with me and helps with the boat and based the the warm weather and knowing the private lakes I fish and said we need to go!!
We headed to a cove where they and bedded before. The depth was 4' and water temp was 64° and the area is full of stumps a submerged logs.
We caught 48 crappie and 2 lrg bream, the crappie were all over a pound and most averaged about 2lbs. All were males with their Tuxedo's on except for 4 females that were holding about 25' back towards 6-8' water. The females eggs were foamy so it will be on for the next 3 or 4 days. We fished with minnows and a RR with a blk and chartruse Joker. The RR's caught more fish then the minnows 2 to 1.
