Worthy of mention
There are those days ,where you venture off to a spot or 2 that most likely don't have a bite . Of course one will never know unless one goes and to be sure even with good intel ,sometimes it just isn't happening .
So without any information on either spot and a bit of time I hit 2 different lakes for about 30 minutes each . Lake one not a single PECK and to make matters worse pelicans and cormorants were all over the little 25 acre lake :yikes
lake 2 similar situation in that there were about 150 cormorants on it with pelicans here and there as well ....:bash
So I was close to getting totally skunked and about to say oh well it could happen when THUMP !
The fish starts ripping drag and going fast as heck out to deeper water . Then it turns and comes racing at me like a hybrid . I tell myself for sure not a crappie ,probably a bass or catfish since the lake don't have striped fish in it . Next thing you know its on top acting like it wants to jump and its a real nice crappie !
somehow I managed to land it on a dock that's about 6 to 8 feet above the water and to be sure it makes me cringe to try to lift a big girl that far .
So case in point , no matter who what or where there are those days when JUST one bite makes you smile :highfive
and to be sure if you think you have then figured out just wait because there is always a day when you don't . :Rofl
