Garmin 53dv Echomap Issues

Purchased a new Garmin in the fall with little success so far. Sent these pictures to Garmin, they said it looked to be mounted correctly, and sent me a new unit and transducer. Weather has finally allowed me to try it out and still about the same. Since I took the below pictures I dropped it down about 1" below the boat, a little better but still a lot of interference about 5-10' range. Thought it was the jack plate, but that would show interference all the time, which isn't the case. Separated all the wires from motor and TM, and connected to its own separate battery. If it was air bubbles I wouldn't think it'd be that bad sitting still. What do you all think?

2 separate issues going on here ...

The last one at 10mph is turbulence coming off the boat hull creating bubbles which show as dark vertical lines in DI ... Remedy for this issue is slow down below 10mph ...

The 1st issue does "look like" jack plate echoes ... But seems odd as disappearing ... Verify this possibility by temporarily mounting the xducer to a board and stick it farther down in the water to see if the echoes in the image go away ...

I have the same lines with my Lowrance on DI and out the port side on Si.
Last summer after moving my transducer board and transducer closer to the center of the the boat and lower,I figured I'd have it,nope same lines. So I did what Ricki said,screwed the transducer on a 1x4 and C clamped it to the transom, I tilted the big motor and kicker out of the water and went testing.I ended up having to move the transducer about 4" below the bottom most part of the center of the boat....but the Si and Di pictures were perfect.
I haven't decided if I'm going to mount my transducer on a tilt stick yet or not for this coming summer....FYI I have a aluminum boat also.

Thanks, I’ll give this a try. Only thing I’m scared of is if it has to be 4” below boat, I’ll forget and take off with it still down there.

Cabelas has a portable transducer bracket I have been using moving one of my transducers around on the back of my Jon boat experimenting the best place to mount. You can clamp it anywhere on the back of the transom and move it up and down. You might try it. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Porta...7.uts?slotId=0
