A few days in paradise
Attachment 287257Attachment 287258Attachment 287259
Spent the last 4 days at a friends cabin in my hometown. He has a 15 acre lake he built in 2012. It is full of quality fish. We caught bass in the 1.5-2# range, a few Flier Bream and several nice crappie. We'd go out around 10 for a couple hours and again around 3. His family has 300 acres they farm and all except him live there, which is why he built the pond and cabin. His hunt club leases 4800 acres adjoining their property and it is a sportsmans paradise. Plenty of deer, turkey, hogs and birds. Attachment 287260Attachment 287261Attachment 287262
It was a very relaxing visit and I am already looking forward to the next trip.

We even had fried squirrel with gravy for lunch one day. His place is a hangout for family and friends so we had 4 or 5 join us for lunch or dinner every day. Most were past acquaintances of mine that I had not seen since high school.

That's truly a beautiful place. Only reason to go somewhere else would be to go to church. Thanks for sharing your story.

Bobby, if I get any more squirrels I'll bring you a mess.
Robert, his family and the hunt club members are trying to get quail reestablished on the property. They also have some dove fields but been working on other stuff so doves are hit and miss (Aren't they always)
Funny thing was, he is 6 years younger than me so I didn't know him in high school, even though we have a lot of mutual friends now. He moved to Lexington to be near his grandkids and I just met him a few months ago.
Just a great guy and fun to be around.
