Please help 25hp mercury xd problem

So, recently we took the tracker up river to fish. Everything was fine until we went to leave. Boat will crank and idle fine, as well as run about 1/4 throttle. Once past that point it just dies completely. I have replaced fuel tank and fuel line as well as pulled carb and mildly cleaned with carb cleaner and still no change. If I put the motor in a drum of water, it will run wide open throttle but I know there's no load on it. I am lost here and desperately need to get it fixed with spring around the corner. Any ideas?

I recently cleaned my Carb with Acetone, It does a good job and will not harm rubber parts. I was going to use the Carb cleaner that soaks the whole thing but needs a new kit and said to spray all metal parts with W-D 40 to stop Rust. The spray cans are not that good for some problems with trash in the Jets.

Sounds like its starving for fuel. Could be a clogged main jet or sticking inlet needle in the carb. Could also be a bad/weak fuel pump. Then again could also be an ignition issue related to advancing the throttle. If possible, you need to check the compression and for good spark prior to doing anything.

Put a clear fuel filter on the fuel line between the fuel pump and carb. It will give you something to watch while it runs and if it dies and the filter is mostly full you know the fuel pump is good and the problem lies within the carb. Otherwise the pump is bad and you can verify by pumping the bulb by hand as you accelerate to see if that solves the problem.

For the carb, get a kit. I also like to soak mine in some stuff called "Chem Dip" after I clean it a little. They sell it at almost all auto parts stores.

I'm going with float/float valve.

If the float isn't adjusted right, it will idle fine but the minute you start taking fuel out of the bowl of the carb, it cannot keep up with the amount of fuel being consumed. The float jet could be stuck or the float could be dirty or bent. If they are bent UP, this will cause your issue. Bent to far down and you get too much fuel and it will hit the overflow.

Pin hole(s) in the fuel pump diaphragm can cause this too.
